Lynn Grieger, RD on the South Beach Diet

The South Beach Diet is the best low-carb-type diet currently on the market. It emphasizes healthy, carbohydrate-containing foods and encourages moderate portion sizes of all foods - including your not-so-healthy favorites.

The book honestly highlights different people's responses to the diet, even introducing dieters who didn't have any success. The people presented didn't lose hundreds of pounds, nor did they end up model-thin - but most did lose weight, felt better about themselves and improved their health.

iVillagers on the South Beach Diet

"My skin looks better, I feel better and, by day 13 of Phase 1, I was down 10 pounds!" -- ria925

"The book says that eventually you lose your cravings for bread, but it is just not happening! Another thing I am worried about is that it seems to be pretty expensive. Buying all this organic and natural food is really adding up." -- emilylb10
